Kantor to Finance Construction of New Bedroom Building at Psychoneurological Nursing Home

On October 24, 2013, participants of the founding conference of the Novgorod Regional branch of the People's Front for Russia voted to support an initiative to build a new bedroom building at one of the region’s psychoneurological nursing homes. The turn-key construction of the 100-bed building was initiated by Viatcheslav Kantor, Chair of Acron Coordinating Board and Honoured Citizen of Veliky Novgorod. Kantor will personally finance the project, and Acron will provide technological and organisational support.

The new bedroom building will meet all up-to-date requirements and safety standards. Design work and site selection are underway.

At present, patients with neurological disorders have to wait for bed availability in social institutions in the region, and health facilities are worn-out. Construction of the new building will do a great deal to solve these problems.

Mikhail Shmakov, Chairman of the Federation of Independent Trade Unions of Russia and a participant in the People’s Front for Russia emphasised the importance of the project: "We welcome Acron's initiative. I don’t know of any other privately funded project of its kind in the healthcare field. What matters is that the hospitals that serve our people receive funding. This project will give the region a new, up-to-standard bedroom building for treating patients."
